Irish Debaters get to National Semi-Final

All-Ireland Champions 2007/8
A Chaorlaigh, a Mholtóirí, a Mhuinteorí, lucht an fhreasúra, agus a cháirdre go léir… ní dhéanfaimid dearmad ar na focail seo go deo.

“Ba cheart dearaidh a chur le hócáidí debs.” (Debs dances should be a thing of the past). Our first motion was received with much enthusiasm by our team. Little did we know it was the beginning of endless hours in the library, numerous drafts, many, MANY shouting matches and incredible support from our teachers Ms. Bligh and Mr. Casey.
We battled our way through many schools, such as Clongowes, Loreto and Portlaoise.
Unfortunately we were narrowly defeated in the All Ireland Semi-Final by Maynooth in the debate “Is rud maith é an chomhaontas Glass a rialtos”(It’s a good thing that the Greens are in Government).
Ba mhaith linn buíochas a thaibhairt do na dhaoine a thugann tabhcaí dúinn I rith an gcomórtas, go háirithe ár mhuinteorí agus gach duine a thugann tabhcaí dúinn ag na dhiospóireachtaí! Go raibh mile maith agaibh!
