Student Council
The Student Council which was set up in 1988 gives representation to the student body in the school.  It is, in fact, the voice of the students.  There is an executive council consisting of the Sixth Year prefects whose function it is to prepare the agenda for the monthly meetings of the General Council.  At the beginning of the academic year each class elects a class representative to voice the suggestions and points of view of the class at the General Council meetings.  The teacher representative, Mrs O' Driscoll, also attends the meetings and reports back to the principal.  Some of the more notable achievements of the Student Council over the years have been: the installation of lockers and vending machines; the provision of tea/coffee making facilities in senior classrooms and a public telephone; the organisation of Fashion Shows and other fund-raising events and the granting of various concessions and privileges for students.
